This is another huge weekend for MK. Well over 150 people are likely to be playing MK competitively over the course of this weekend at two different locations on a few hundred miles apart on the east coast of the US. Dreams will be made, and broken. Respect your TOs, and respect the other players. See you at SJ, and good luck those I won’t see at MLG! Let’s see another KombatNetwork win at MLG! Good luck to Crazy Dominican and Perfect Legend as they represent us hard!
We should be streaming Summer Jam by noon Saturday at twitch.tv/kombatnetwork. Expect MK9, UMK3 and MKII to be seen on stream over the course of the day. We will look to use Challonge as a real time update of brackets for people at home to see, in addition to using TIO on location for running the actual tournament. Pools have not be decided yet, in terms of numbers, because we do not have a full list of players. The link for Challonge will be posted once brackets are completed.
The likely breakdown examples will be 4 pools for 32 or more, 8 pools for 64 or more, and if there are 57 players, for example, it will be 15, 14, 14, 14 with byes in place. We’re trying for no less than 8 players per pool, no more than 16. If the turnout happens to be less than 32, it will be likely done in one large bracket, divided into what are actually, mini pools (hot tubs?) within the single pool itself.
We can’t make a time frame for pools until we know how many players there are and the total is extremely unpredictable right now.
That’s all for now, look for updates to come directly from testyourmight.com and later results posted here.
Thanks to everyone who helps out at this event, as staff will be short for MK due to various factors, for what may or may be more than we can handle.
