Today marks 20 years since the passing of Ryan Hutnick, AKA “The Prophet.” He introduced Shock to FGC Tournaments all the way back in the summer of 2000. The FGC still in its infancy coming off the heels of the arcade era and truly a grassroots phase of expansion. Without Ryan, who knows where the scene would be today, as he was a pioneer for the NRS community’s recognition. He would cross paths with MK_TomBrady over 30 years ago during the initial Mall Arcade Tournament scene for vanilla MK3.

It’s also the 15 year anniversary of Shock, along with MKTomBrady, Konqrr, EGP_KrayzieBone, Check4900 and others in the MK Community, beginning Beta Testing MK9 at NRS, in what would be a first for MK development, bringing players from the outside directly to balance the game in addition to salaried testers.
