Has it been 20 YEARS already? Today marks the 20th anniversary of our first official full length combo video for UMK3. It can be seen here, “redux’d” by ded_. This video was released August 30th, 2003.
For those of you only familiar with KombatNetwork since the inception of MK9, before then we were known as DarkTemplarz.com . This was a “pre-youtube/social media era,” user content media driven, variety website comprised of a bunch of fighting game players with a little forum in their corner of the interwebz that eventually turned into a dedicated, classic MK forum called UltimateMK.com .
There are still some of you around from back then, and many people have helped make these videos over the years either contributing, sharing or even editing. We made about a dozen of these Classic MK specific centric videos with the goal of generating interest in what were already old games 20 years ago. It even spawned a series of videos done by our affiliates under our banner.
I (Shock) really miss making these videos, and perhaps there’s some more to come in the future, or some sort of informational series. Who knows! Keep your eyes peeled.
UMK3 + beta 2 board repair for the homie @UMKShock . He had the board for a bit and was working well, but it suddenly started to show a failed U133 during the post process. Turned out to be a bent pin on the chip, might have been barely making contact before then lost it. pic.twitter.com/S29mQZZvJI
This is emulated UMK3+ on an optimized/tweaked Windows 10 to reduce lag as much as possible that Arturo was working on that night, about 90% through the process for that specific system. @UMKShock was there dropping off the UMK3 console board to be fixed and tested this out along with @Super_Joe_78 on his custom UMK3 arcade stick snack trays!
Playing on #fgcOS tournament mode with actual umk3 overclocked controllers. They’re playing in windowed mode and avoiding the 1f window mode penalty as well.
