Something few people will takeaway from this weekend was how nice it was to see all the players and commentators who contributed to the general event flow, consisting of individuals who either got their start in the scene, were inspired by, were sponsored by or broke through barriers via partnership with KombatNetwork. Mikemetroid, DarthArma, TheAlphabet23, Mister Aquaman, Ketchup, Mustard, Headlocked Gaming, Insuperable and many more legacy players who helped build our scene, all have either played a huge part in the success of KombatNetwork, or KombatNetwork has played a significant part in their origin stories, and they’ll all be the first to tell you. It’s been 15 years of NRS, but there’s been almost 20 years that came before it and so much was built in that time to serve a community that could expand upon itself. It feels like everything positive anyone’s ever said about KN was on display at Combo Breaker this year. Fabulous job to all. These aren’t people who merely traveled to hang out and play, they brought you an event for a franchise with history and meaning beyond a developer’s vision and excelled while doing so.
